what wonderful memories I have of Valerie, Joe, Ms. Betty, Pansy, and all the boys, not only in Avery growing up, but also in Pantex. Valerie had the patience of a saint, trying to keep all the uniforms and bedding washed after the guys came home after working with that carbon black. You had a hard time telling who was who til they showered. She took it all in stride and cooked the biggest, most delicious meals. She would always set another plate or more for whoever showed up.
Pansy and I were like sisters and if you saw one, the other was usually close by. Ms. Betty was the first to make chocolate gravy for me. Boy was it good. Could those ladies cook.
If David was around we were usually trying to con him into taking us somewhere. He always drove a neat car with loud pipes. It was hard to believe that Pansy was David's aunt since he was older.
After Pansy and Virgil got married and left Avery, I was lonely a lot of times. Valerie and Ms Betty always made me welcome in their homes and it meant so much to me.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

Curtis,
We are thinking of you & send our deepest sympathy for you & your family. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.
All Our Love,
Jeff & Susan
I'M FREE:
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
I’m following the path God has laid you see.
I took His hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and peace to thee
God wanted me now; He set me free.

My heart is very sad today reading this obit. Aunt Valerie was a special person to us all. My condolences to the 5 boys she loved dearly. To the rest of our family just that you know we are losing all our family one by one n we need so badly to know that God n love keeps us together. We should make a point to always see each other with open arms as God does. May God give you strength to get through these trying times.Love each of you!~
