Obituary of Bobby Alan Simmons

Bobby Alan Simmons of Cuthand, was born November 26, 1962, to Bobby Gene and Lila Pearl Cannon Simmons in Plainview. He moved with his family to East Texas in 1976. Bobby married Anne Lee Lawson in 1982 and they had two daughters, Kristin Anne and Kerri Lee. He later shared his home and life with Billie Clark and her two daughters, Mallory and Lexi and had another daughter, Ranie Belle Simmons. In his young adult life, Bobby worked in the welding industry, enjoyed guiding horseback tours and hunting trips in Colorado and New Mexico. He had a successful auctioneering business and was crafty working with wood and metal materials. In the recent years he was a bit of an all-around handy man. Throughout his whole life he shared his love for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and his family with everyone he met. Some of Bobby’s favorite things were, Colorado, the outdoors, adventure, hunting, rappelling, bragging on his girls, boonie hats, fishing, living off the land, starting projects, the mountains, headlamps, throw away cameras, Alaska, giving everyone a hard time, cooking, playing with grandkids and telling crazy stories. Bobby was a member of the Cuthand United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Perry Wynn Simmons; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Simmons. Bobby is survived by his daughters, Kristin Cresswell and husband, Jake of Hurst and Kerri Huddleston and husband, Jared of Cuthand , Mallory and Lexi Clark and Ranie Simmons; partner and best friend, Billie Clark of Cuthand; grandchildren, Gracie, Caenon, Deacon, Adelyn and Julia; brothers, Tommy Simmons of Grapeland and Terry Simmons of Cuthand; nieces and nephews, Shelaphon Spann, Ronald Simmons, Perry Simmons, Matt Simmons and Misti Grogan and families. Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the Cuthand United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial will follow in Cuthand Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Troy Hardwick, Alan Spann, Thomas Spann, Dylan Simmons, Matt Simmons, Jared Huddleston, Jake Cresswell, Ronald Simmons and Rob Grogan. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home.
