Obituary of Margaret Smith

Margaret Estelle Smith, age 92, of Clute, formally of Lone Star Community, passed away November 18, 2015, at Creekside Village Healthcare in Clute. Margaret was born March 7, 1923, in Red River County to James Earnest and Jennie Mae Hayes. She married Frank Smith on November 24, 1940. They are survived by daughter, Brenda Gale and husband, David Jones of Texarkana; son, Jimmy Don and wife, Guin Smith of Freeport. In later years they moved to the Lone Star Community and were members of Lone Star Methodist Church. Margaret worked at Red River Army Depot. In 2012 she moved to Creekside Village Healthcare in Clute, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Frank Smith and many brothers and sisters. Margaret is survived by 4 grandchildren, Charles Jones, Tammie Raulston, Candace Smith and Gary Jones; 4 great grandchildren, Weston Raulston, Amber Jones, Jonathan Jones and Brandon Jones; 1 sister, Nella West of Anton and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Creekside Village Healthcare in Clute, for their care, compassion and friendship in the life of Margaret. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00, Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Clarksville Funeral Home. Graveside services are set for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Lone Star Cemetery with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
