Obituary of Frankie Lucille Coats

Frankie Lucille Braddock Coats, formerly of Red River County, passed away, Sunday, February 7, 2016, in Norman, Oklahoma. Lucille was born September 23, 1918, in Manchester to George and Leona Patterson Whittle. Mrs. Coats was a first grade teacher for most of her life in the Dimple and Clarksville area. Her students knew her as Mrs. Braddock. She was very active in Leesville Baptist Church and later at the Clarksville First Baptist Church. Mrs. Coats was a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a very loving, kind and caring person and will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Coats; her sister, Aliene Phelps and her nephew, Bobby Harmening. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at the Clarksville First Baptist Church. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Clarksville with Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will follow at Boxelder Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Mrs. Coats is survived by her Niece, Carolyn Walden and husband, Fred of Norman, OK; her daughters, Pam Shirley of Queen City and Susan Bennett of New Boston; her grandchildren, Lesley Dotson and husband, Jeff of Atlanta, Ryan Bennett of New Boston and Devin Bennett of Texarkana, AR; 2 great grandchildren; her niece Jessica Crook and husband Jeff of Murphy her nephews, George Harmening, Todd Autry and wife, Gayla, Tonny Walden and wife, Sara all of Norman, Oklahoma and Doug Autry of Hugo, Oklahoma.
