Obituary of Charles T Holley

Charles Travis “Skeet” Holley, age 93, of Clarksville, passed away March 3, 2016, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Mr. Holley was born December 9, 1922, in Red River County to Charlie and Rosie McGill Holley. He retired after 40 years of working with his brothers at Holley Brothers Mechanic shop in Clarksville. Skeet served many years on the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of the Aikin Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Margaret O’Donnell Holley; 2nd wife, Mary Estelle Holley;2 brothers, Hugh ‘Bud: Holley, J.B. Ballard Holley; sister, Dorothy Ann Green; step daughter, Joy Woods; great granddaughter, Morgan Merideth Daniel. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 6, 2016, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are; Chuck Holley, Jim Cheyne, Robert Holley, Brit Holley, Chris Walston, John David Holley, David Holley and Brennen Cortez. Survivors include his wife, Alice Marie Preston Holley of the home; 2 sons, John N. Holley and wife, Jessie of Clarksville and Charles Holley and wife, Pat of Carthage; daughter, Kathy Cheyne and husband, Jim of Clarksville; step daughters, Mary Lou Dodd and husband, Bill of Johntown, Maeola Kasparek and husband, Jay of Odessa and Neva Dell Epps and husband, Charlie of Johntown; grandchildren, Shannon Johnson, Jennifer Nienke, Justin Holley, Krisan Cortez, Tiffany Simington, Ginger Warner and Jason Black; great grandchildren, Dillion Ogden, Cailee Odgen, Logan Nienke, Brennen Cortez, Kylee Cortez, Karis Cortez, Ashten Simington , Cayden Simington, Brittany Black, Laura Nobel, Michael Burks, Colton Black, Jaxson Black and Mason Black; and 2 great –great grandchildren, Drake Brown and Aspyn Daniel.
