Obituary of Charles Alford Conyers

Charles Alford Conyers, age 71, of Leonard, formerly of Annona, passed away, Saturday, March 12, 2016, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Mr. Conyers was born April 17, 1944, in Annona to Hickey and Robbie Kilmer Conyers. He was a 1962 graduate of Annona High School and retired from Overnight Trucking Company. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Conyers; son, Michael Paul Akins; sister, Brenda Conyers; and a brother, Jerry Conyers. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Russell Cemetery with Bro. David Norman officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Honorary Pallbeares are, Craig McGregor, Granville Gwin, Zane Miller, Jeremy Akins, Keith Akins, Tyler Conyers and Mike Russell. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include 4 sons, Richard Akins and wife, Cassandra of Leonard, Shannon Conyers and wife, Heather of Greenville, Timothy Akins of Leonard and Chuck Grams and wife, Shannon of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; 1 daughter, Robyn Taylor and husband, Randy of Knoxville, Tennessee; 2 sisters, Virginia Conyers Peek of Plano and Genetta McGregor and husband, Dub of Clarksville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
