Obituary of Charles Ray Oneal

Charles Ray Oneal, Sr., age 87, of Hammond, Louisiana, formerly of Boxelder, passed away, Sunday, May 22, 2016. Mr. Oneal was born May 27, 1928, in Boxelder to Charles “Jack” and Lillie Bell Coats Oneal. He traveled the world working in the oil fields for many years. Charles was a pilot, avid sportsman and loved watching John Wayne Western Movies. Most of all he loved his family and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Orvis Gordon Oneal; and a grandchild, Matthew Grant Oneal. Funeral services are set for 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2016, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Charles Oneal, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Boxelder Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Mae Mitchell Oneal; 2 sons, Thomas Dow Oneal of Hammond, Louisiana and Charles Ray Oneal, Jr. and wife, Diane of Lafayette, Louisiana; 1 daughter, Carrol Sue Oneal Gilcrease of Hammond, Louisiana; grandchildren, Andrea Carrol Gilcrease Johnson, Steven Fred Gilcrease, Jr., Vincent Charles Gilcrease, Thomas Dow Oneal, II, Stacy Stanton Oneal Buck, Christopher Lee Oneal, Cassie Diane Lacombe, Lacey Elizabeth Haynes, Adam Clayton Oneal and Bethany Joy Moore; great grandchildren, Thomas Allen Johnson III, Julianne Carrol Johnson, Laura Grace Gilcrease, Audrey Elizabeth Gilcrease, Amelia Anne Gilcrease, Charles Lewis Gilcrease, Moriah Oneal, Hannah Oneal, Nyah Oneal, Liberty Grace Oneal, Christopher Charles Oneal, Mason Kate Buck, Katlyn Mae Buck, Gunner Tory Buck, Lily Diane Lacombe, Benjamin Matthew Lacombe, Charles Mitchell Lacombe, Elizabeth Joelle Haynes, Rebecca JoAnne Haynes, Olivia Diane Haynes and Jude Adam Oneal.
