Obituary of Luke Aaron Simpson

Luke Aaron Simpson, age 15, of Clarksville, passed away, Sunday, June 12, 2016. Luke had just finished his freshman year at Rivercrest High School. He was a very active young man. He played the trumpet in the Rivercrest High School Band. Luke was a member of the FFA, where he excelled in Horticulture and was accepted into the Paris Junior College Upward Bound Program. He was his sister’s best friend. He loved animals, being in the outdoors and his loving dog, Milly. Luke was born, August 25, 2000, in Mt. Pleasant to Todd and Lamystia “Misty” Owens Simpson. He attended the Maranatha Christian Center in De Kalb. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. Steve McMichael and Bro. Jim Stinson officiating. Burial will follow in Albion Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Tanner Gibson, Reese Jessee, Zach Baird, Parker Conrad, Colby Fletcher and Dakota Tippit. Survivors include his father, Todd Simpson of Clarksville; his grandparents, David and Judy Simpson of Clarksville and Richard and Lawanda Owens of Hayworth, Oklahoma; great grandmother’s, Mary Nell Owens of Idabel, Oklahoma and Syble Simpson of De Kalb; his sister, Shelbi Simpson of Clarksville; his brother, Brandon Simpson; and his aunts and uncles, Tara and Clint Hastings, Wade Stevenson, Shane Owens,
