Obituary of Charles Mike Murphy

Charles Michael “Mike” Murphy, age 66, of Bagwell, passed away, Sunday, July 17, 2016, at his residence. Mike was born, June 9, 1950, in Clarksville to Charles Everett and Irene Paradise Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great grandson, Brayden; and a son in law, Ricky Smith. Mike was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Paula Brumley on August 25, 1967. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2016, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with James Hastings officiating. Burial will follow in Blanton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are, Danny Miller, Paul Miller, Mark Miller, Doug Miller, Billy Mitchell and Malcom Weemes. Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Watson, Harlan Brown, Mike Boulware, John Earl Hawley and James Miller. Survivors include his wife, Paula Murphy of Bagwell; 3 sons, Charles Murphy and wife, Staci of Clarksville; Michael Murphy and wife, Cami of Bagwell and Monty Murphy and wife, Jamie of Deport; 2 daughters, Michelle Smith of Bagwell and Janice Patterson and husband, Patrick of Pattonville; 1 sister, Leila Means of Avon, Indiana; 1 brother, James Summerlin and wife, Peggy of Lewisville; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
