Obituary of Lillian Ruth Ellis

Lillian Ruth Ellis, age 86, of Clarksville, passed away, Friday, July 22, 2016, at Regency Nursing Center. Mrs. Ellis was born, March 5, 1930, in Avery to John Dewey and Jessie Elizabeth Roycraft Nowlin. She was retired LVN. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Berry D. Ellis; 3 daughters, Sandra Martin, Carolyn Ellis and Sharlet Collins; 2 brothers, Jay Nowlin and C.W. Nowlin; 4 sisters, Earnestene Strong, Virginia Ellis, Ruby Nell Nowlin and Johnnie Nowlin. Mrs. Ellis was a very good cook and made sure everyone was taken care of. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2016, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Randy Martin, Mike Bobbitt, Marty Sherer, Ricky Ellis, Ryan Jones and James Martin. Survivors include her son, Steve Ellis and wife, Kristy of Hagensport; her daughters, Sheila Martin of Talco and Sharon Bobbitt and husband, J.T. of New Boston; honorary son, Jim Collins and wife, Darla; a sister, Cindy King of Huffman; brother in law, Jim Collins; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
