Obituary of Effie Lou Kelsoe
Effie Lou (Nicks) Kelsoe, age 86, of Avery, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Kelsoe was born December 27, 1929, in Avery to George and Mary Eliza Bearden Nicks. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed fishing, cooking and tending to her flowers. Mrs. Kelsoe was preceded in death by her husband, Hurshel Kelsoe in 2008; her grandson, Dwight Kelsoe; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services are set for 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2016, at the Avery Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Roddy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Avery Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Earl, Kenneth, Wade, Rachel, Justin and Randy Kelsoe.
Honorary Pallbearers are Melvin Runyan, Johnny Phelps and Marvin Burkett.
Survivors include her sons, Edwin Kelsoe and wife, Emma Lou of Avery, Mike Kelsoe and wife, Elaine of Avery and Trent Kelsoe of Avery; 6 grandchildren, Earl, Kenneth, Justin, Randy, Wade and Rachel Kelsoe; 13 great grandchildren; and her brother, James Nicks of Mesquite.
