Obituary of Boyce B.C. Hodgson

Boyce Courtland (B.C.) Hodgson, age 84, of Avery, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016, at Titus Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hodgson was born, August 20, 1932, in the New Hope Community of Bowie, County to L.O. and Bertha May Smith Hodgson. He was a member of the World Bibleway Church in Irving and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Hodgson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise Phelps Hodgson; a daughter, Shirley Axelson; a grandson; 3 brothers, Odis Hodgson, Walter Hodgson and Floy Hodgson; and 4 sisters, Vivian Hodgson, Dovie Matthews, Ann Spencer and Lula Farrar. Funeral services are set for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 13, 2016, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Hodgson officiating. Burial will follow in Savannah Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are, Tony Hodgson, Jerry Farrar, Odie Farrar, Paul Farrar, Cody Bassett and Neal Hodgson. Honorary Pallbearers are, Jack Farrar and Curt Robinson. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include 5 brothers, Newmon Hodgson and wife, Susan of DeKalb, John Hodgson and wife, Sue of Louisiana, Joe Dale Hodgson of Seattle, Washington, Lynn Hodgson and wife, Chris of Daingerfield and James Hodgson and wife, Carol of Daingerfield;2 sisters-in-law, Lucille Hodgson and Mary Hodgson; several nieces, nephews and friends.
