Obituary of James Harold Dawson

James Harold Dawson, age 84, of Bagwell, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Legend Healthcare and Rehab. Mr. Dawson was born, July 1, 1932, in the Manchester Community of Red River County. He was the son of Gus Francis and Bernice Tuggle Dawson. He was a rancher and broke his last horse at the age of 81. One of his favorite past times was riding horses on Sunday afternoon in the Northwoods, with Glen Berry. James served in the U. S. Air Force and was a member of the Leesville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters. Graveside services are set for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016, at Tuggle Springs Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are, Luke Bland, Johnnie Pee, Parker Freeman, Glen Berry, Boyd Harmening,Cody Lee and Tony Whittle. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Burns Dawson of Bagwell; his family, Janice Freeman and husband, W.R. of Clarksville, Trina Keys and Johnnie Pee of Little River, Arkansas, Ronnie Freeman of Clarksville and Glen Berry of Manchester; grandchildren, Lee Bland Lee and husband, Cody of Gatesville, Luke Bland of Clarksville and Parker Freeman of Clarksville; 2 sisters, Pat Wooley of Paris and Bobbie French of Dallas; and 1 brother, Jim Dawson and wife, Gail of Paris.
