Obituary of Helen Markham

Helen Ruth Markham, age 87, of Avery, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Regency Nursing Center. Helen was born February 26, 1929, in Clarksville to Bernard and Alma Brown McCain. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alvie Markham. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Clarksville Funeral Home. Graveside services are set for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Avery Cemetery with Brandon Canup officiating. Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Helen is survived by her sons, Dennis Markham of Avery and Larry Markham of Clarksville; 2 sisters, Mary Gortney of Avery and Wanda Hitt of Pow; 2 grandchildren, Angeula Markham of Alanta and Daniel Markham of Ashdown, Arkansas; 3 great grandchildren, Daniel, Kaylee and Bella; 2 nieces, Nancy Durham of New Boston and Diane Morruy; one nephew Douglas Gortney and numerous other nieces and nephews.
