Obituary of Opal Atwood

Opal Atwood, age 58, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016, at her residence. Opal was born October 16, 1958, in Norman, Oklahoma to Jimmy and Opal Ringwald Poor. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Poor; her mother, Opal Draper; 2 brothers, Charles Poor and Jerry Poor; her sister, Beth McKelvey and step-father, Luke Draper. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2017, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home. Graveside services are set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 1, 2017, at Leesville Cemetery with Bro. Karl Bush officiating. Burial is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include her 2 sons, James Atwood of Sulphur Springs and Edgar Atwood of Cooper; her daughter, Ruth Garcia of Sulphur Springs; 8 grandchildren, Juan Reyes, Jr., Bethanie Atwood, Alyssa Shelton, Gavin Shelton, Ethan Shelton, Lana Pak, Lori Pak and Ethan Atwood; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
