Obituary of Esther Cooper

Esther Cooper, age 89, of Clarksville passed away Sunday, January 08, 2017, at Clarksville Nursing Center. Esther was born October 2, 1927, in Clackamas, Oregon to Henry and Georgiana Behymer Nelson. She married Eldon Cooper on June 9, 1945 at Bremerton, Washington. She attended Lone Star Methodist Church, was a member of the Lone Star Quilting Club and volunteered with the ETMC Auxiliary for a number of years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eldon Leslie Cooper; her son, Clifton Gary Cooper and her brother Darrel “Buzzy” Nelson. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at Lone Star Methodist Church. Funeral Services are set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Lone Star Methodist Church with Rev. Don Shovan and Robert Dupuy officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include her son, Lonell Gale “Lonnie” Cooper of Katy; her 2 daughters, Holly Lynne Cooper of Austin and Lanetta Marie Cooper of Austin; her brother, Robert “Rob” and wife Pat Dupup of Pasco, Washington; her daughter-in-law, Karen Kelly of Katy; 2 sisters-in-law, Martha Nelson of Eugene, Oregon and Reba Cooper of Austin; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
