Obituary of Robert "Buddy" Parker

Robert D. “Buddy” Parker, age 82, of Clarksville, passed away, Tuesday, January 17, 2017. Buddy was the owner of Buddy Parker Motors for over 60 years and also had Buddy Parker Real Estate. He was born February 1, 1934, in Cottonwood, New Mexico to Hershel Victor and Carrie Pullen Parker. His son, Michael Dale Parker; a brother, Roy Ingram; and a sister, Minnie Opal Howard preceded him in death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Buddy was a rancher and enjoyed following all of his grandchildren’s sporting events. He married Wanda Burks, December 6, 1951. Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Tracy Williams and Rev. Mark Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Jason Petty, Ashley Minter, Nick Baird, Jeffery Bivins, Bill Kornell, Craig Fraizer, Beau Parker, Cole Parker and Chet Rushing. Honorary Pallbearers are, Gary Raulston, Bubba Alford, Billy Mitchell, Aaron Perkins, Mack Brannon and Jim Ballantine. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Burks Parker of Clarksville; a son, Bobby Parker and wife, Carol of Clarksville; a daughter, Cheri Rushing and Blaine Peek of Clarksville; a sister, Helen Tidwell of Roswell, New Mexico; a brother, Junior Parker and wife, Betty of Blossom; and his grandchildren, Beau and Cole Parker and Chet and Lexi Rushing.
