Pat was very special to me he always treated me with kindness though sometimes I got on his nerves he taught me a lot of things one of the things that he taught me is a even though I was small I can do anything I set my mind to he taught me how to ride Bulls and which I did for 10 years we went hunting and fishing together and he taught me how to shoot a shotgun and get all the double wanted I know I lost touch with him over the years but there wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think of him and thank him and my mind for all the good things he taught me he was a great man and will be missed very much thank you all for putting up with me to allow him to teach me the things that he did and may God bless you

I learned a great deal from Pat over the years and we spent many days afield together hunting and fishing. He was an avid bowhunter, and he loved to mentor kids. I believe he got as much of a kick out of watching my son, Dillon, catch a fish than just about anything else in life. The world is at a loss. This man, my dear friend, is one that I loved and respected very much. My heart is in my throat and the sadness comes and goes. It's a very sad day for all who knew him. I try to remember that death is just a part of life and none of us are immune. One day, it will come for all of us. Until then, let's all take a lesson from Pat. Live it up!!
RIP Pat. I'll join you on that big hunt before too long. He lives eternally....
...in the wind.

Pat was a special person. He and my oldest Son, Kerry, have been best friends since grade school. Pat spent a lot of time at our house when they were growing up. I have hunted and fished with Pat many times and he was always happy and easy going and always had a lot of stories to tell. We have not seen each other much in the last few years because he lived so far away. I love him and will miss him and it seems impossible that he was taken from us so young. He is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and I will see him again in a better place.

Pat was very special to me and it is hard to think that he is not with us any longer. I first met Pat when he was in my 6th grade science class in Wylie. When he found out I liked hunting, fishing, and looking for snakes, he begin calling to talk about his and my hunting and other outdoor activities. I think I had Pat in at least four of my classes, maybe five, 6th, 7th & 8th grade science, and Biology. He continued to call occasionally and talk about hunting and what snakes he and I had found. After high school, Owens Sausage, and riding bulls, I finally got to hunt with Pat and a couple of his friends, William Ellenburg and Kerry Meuir (also former students), on a deer lease near Mason. I learned a lot about Pat that hunting season. His knowledge of the game animals we were hunting and their behavior was greater than most degreed college students. I really enjoyed hunting with Pat over the years – always included great food, good hunting stories, and some good, deep discussions on life. I have often used Pat as an example for kids that you don’t have to go to some big famous university to become successful. I admired Pat’s persistence and determination. Almost every hunting season he would call and ask about what I had been hunting or what snakes I had found and then invite me on a hunt. One of my favorite hunts with Pat was when he invited a Wounded Warrior and his family to hunt on our lease in West Texas. It was great watching this family enjoying their weekend of hunting and watching Pat sharing his knowledge about techniques and strategies for hunting whitetails and mule deer. He also enjoyed sharing his hunting experience with kids (especially those who would otherwise not have the opportunity), and with his friends, and his family.
Pat was not just an ex-student, he was my friend. He will be missed and dearly remembered.

My Condolences to the family
For many years Pat and I were always together going fishing, hunting or just hanging out with our families on the weekends. Denise and I were married @ there home in Floresville. Pat was a valuable and instrumental part of my son and daughters lives. Teaching and helping Corey to be a fishing guide, he loved spending the summers with Pat. Our daughter Kayla finished her senior year of high school and graduated from Floresville all the while living with Pat and Diane, and enjoying her senior year. So many good memories of vacations, Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers. I have so many pictures of my friend and I over the years that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
My heart is breaking for the loss of your son and brother, and my friend. Pat and I have not spoken for years and all I can say to that is, we were both stubborn men. Now he,s gone on to a better place with our lord, and I will never have a chance to tell him, I love you my friend let,s go hunting. I let him down he always kept in contact with Corey and Kayla and they both would say Pat wants you to call him. I just want you to know I will miss your son and brother, and I will reunite with him again. Rest in peace Patrick Duane Roebuck

My memories of Pat are, he was one of our kids that were always at our house. I am so happy to be part of his early rodeo memories, He was so loved by so many, I don't know why some have to go so early in life, and leave so many broken hearts behind, but I am comforted that Bob Blackwood would be welcoming him into a new glorious arena, one with no more sickness and no more pain. I send my heartfelt prayers out to his family and friends, 2left behind, and I pray a peace to fill each hurting heart. God bless, Ellen and TJ
