Obituary of O. T. Cheyne

Oscar “O.T.”  Cheyne age 93, of Boxelder, passed away, Thursday, June 22, 2017, at Clarksville Nursing Center.  O.T. was born, August 7, 1923, in Boxelder to Oscar and Lydia Bolch Cheyne.  He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Rockbridge.  O.T. was an avid fisherman and hunter, especially coon hunting and trapping hogs. He never was at a loss for words when it came to talking about hunting or old war stories.  He loved getting together with family and friends and holding fish fry’s.  His wife, Mureline Minter Cheyne; grandson, Blake Christophersen; and 3 brothers, Joe Don, John Ray and Amos Dean preceded him in death.

 Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 25, 2017, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Don Shovan and Rev. Jimmy Woodard officiating.  Burial will follow in Boxelder Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home

 Honorary Pallbearers are, Billy Sam Allen, Ollie Dee Hays, George Mack Giddens, Pop Bivins, Haldeen Peacock, Bobby Woody, Ernie Paul Hays, Mike Ray, Jr. Baird, Gene Simmons and Glen Floyd.

 The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Survivors include 1 son, Bruce Cheyne and wife, Donna of Boxelder; 1 daughter Betty Jeans of Boxelder; grandchildren, Lori Smith and husband, Jay, Terri Smith and husband, Buck, Shannon Jeans and wife, Rhonda, Ronni Gibbs and husband, Eric, Cody Cheyne and Norrisa Williams  and husband, Trey; great grandchildren, Heather Morris and husband, Dustin, Kristi Bryant and husband, Samuel, Allison Antonacci and husband, D.J., Luke Smith and wife, Sydnie, Bridget Hayes, Lauren Stogsdill and husband, Chase, Erica Gibbs, Harrison Gibbs, Lydia Williams and Haddie Williams; great –great grandchildren, Tatum Merritt, Myla Morris, Brody Bryant, Owen Bryant, Emerson Antonacci, Meredith Antonacci, Kacen Hayes, BlakeLee Christophersen, Kingston Fraizer and Ian Stogsdill.
