My dear Kay and Family, words are inadequate to express my sorrow that Ernest has left our lives. While I know he had a joyous home-going this world is a much poorer place without him in it. Thank God for that blessed hope! We will join him one day!!! Much love and many prayers, Donna Skaggs Townes

Sad to hear of Ernest's passing. He and his sister Gail are the first playmates I remember in life. He must have been about 2 years old, I remember us 3 running around in their yard. We lived up the road from them about half a mile. I am almost exactly 2 years older than Ernest. We played football together at Clarksville. I appreciate all the help he was to the city of Clarksville and the county. His friend, Jim Giddens.

The fact that Ernest is no longer in pain and is in Heaven with his Lord will go a long way in soothing your broken & hurting heart! I haven't seen him in a long time but when I did he always had a big smile.
Another one of the "Good Guys" is gone.
My prayers for all of the family.

I will miss the ever delightful Earnest, as will all who knew him, which just has to be everyone in Clarksville if not RedRiver County. His ever present smile always gave me the impression that he was about to share something exciting, funny, or entertaining. Few people have spent their lives caring for others as did our dear friend Ernest.

My sincere condolences to the Witmer family. Ernest "Bubba" Witmer was well known by all who lived in Clarksville. Many sleep-overs at the Witmer home in our teen years found that Bubba was the entertainment for the evening for Gail's friends. He was the delight of his sisters. He has left us with happy memories. God bless.

He will really be missed. He was a special kind of man, always wanting to help. He was the best salesman I ever was around, he could take a man with a size 12 foot put him in a 10 and 1/2 size boot and he would walk out of his store smiling. He left all of us with a lot of happy memories.
