We, her classmates of Lonoke, Arkansas High School Class of 1951, will always be thankful that we knew Emma Lee and were considered her friends. About seven of us enrolled when she did at Henderson State Teachers College. She was very popular with all the students because she was a very friendly, pretty, upbeat, loving person and always a pleasure to be around. In recent years, Emma Lee always responded to any message that I sent to our 1951 class and sent money on a number of occasions. She phoned me before our reunion last April and said that she was so sorry she was not able to come see all of us. We will send a $50 Lonoke High Class of ’51 donation to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in honor of Emma Lee Spencer. I am sure that is what she would prefer because a few years ago she made a donation to Children’s Hospital in honor of Nancy and I. Our class members will be praying that the Lord’s peace will be evident in the minds and hearts of you family members during this time of grieving.
