Obituary of Ray Oce Tucker
Ray Oce Tucker, age 76, of Clarksville, left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, February 02, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family and excellent caregivers at Regency Nursing Center in Clarksville and Hospice Plus. Ray was a follower of Christ and long-time member of the Temple Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and assistant treasurer for many years. He served his country in the United States Army and retired from the Red River Army Depot. After retirement, Ray drove a school bus for Clarksville Independent School District and mowed the lawns of many Clarksville residents and businesses. While his daughter was in school he served on the Clarksville Band Boosters Club and he served as Post Adjutant for the American Legion of Clarksville. Before his lengthy illness, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. His favorite past time was spoiling his nephews, nieces and granddaughter. He was a man of great strength and character who always stepped up to take care of his loved ones. Ray was born on December 22, 1941, to Perry and CorinnaTucker. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Gene Tucker and Leo Tucker; 1 sister, Ann Hackler; 2 nephews, Bruce Hackler and Kenneth Tucker; 1 grandson, Justin Luke Stansbury; and 2 brothers-in-law, Herman Ballew and Larry Smith.
Funeral services are set for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Lucas Fields and Rev. James Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Michael Ballew, Jason Smith, Josh Delamare, Ronnie Tucker, Kelly Slaton, Bryon Dawson and Billy Barton.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jeff Barton, Joe Stewart, Michael Downs, Kevin Downs, Chance Tosh, Ryan Jones, Stephen Ballew, Gunner Cash, Lawrance Gould, Reagan Bell, Tracy Tippie, Jason Stansbury and the men of Temple Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, of 30 years, Ruby Humphrey Tucker of Clarksville; 1 daughter, Paula Stansbury and husband, Chad of Wake Village; 2 sisters, Vivian Ballew of Troup and Jimmie Ruth Smith of Joshua; 1 granddaughter, Amelia Rae Stansbury; and many nieces and nephews.
