Obituary of Lisa Denise Humphrey

Lisa Denise Jamison Humphrey, age 59, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at her residence.  Lisa was born, August 13, 1958, in Clarksville to Johnny David and Dorothy Jo “Jo Jo” Rains Jamison.  She was preceded in death by her mother; and her twin sons.  She was a 1976 graduate of Clarksville High School and received her Masters of Education from East Texas State University.  Lisa taught school in the Clarksville Independent School District for over 38 years. She was active and promoted Red River County’s Relay for Life.  Lisa loved being with her family and friends, whether she was camping at the lake, shopping or enjoying a cookout.  One thing for sure is, whatever she was doing, you knew Lisa was there!  Lisa married Michael Humphrey on June 1, 1979 in Clarksville.

Funeral services are set for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. James Brown officiating.  Burial will follow in Clarksville Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends an hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are, Vic Bishop, Toad Witmer, Clay Peek, Mike Singletary, Steve Capps, Terry Giddens, Rick Bachman and Pete Skidmore.

Honorary Pallbearers are, Tanner Napier, Reese Napier, Mason Napier, Alex Meals, Drew Meals, Cole Tidmore and Aaron Tidmore.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Humphrey of Clarksville; her father, Johnny Jamison of Clarksville; 2 sons, Hunter Humphrey of Paris and Heath Humphrey of Clarksville; her sister, Beverly Haley of Dallas; a special niece, Lori Napier of Paris; and several nieces and nephews; and 2 special friends, Lisa Peek and Sheila Manning.

In lieu of flowers the Lisa Humphrey Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established at the Northeast Texas Teachers Federal Credit Union in Clarksville.
