Bobby was my first golf coach when I was at Crockett in the 7th, 8th grade, as well as my PE teacher. He helped inspire me to keep trying no matter how bad I was playing basket ball in the gym or learning golf. I may have even had a few licks from his taped up size 14 tennis shoe when I got out of line. too bad this isn't still par for the course in schools today. I remember only a handful of teachers and he is one of them. Thanks for caring Mr. Puckett. My condolences to his family for their loss.

To the family of Coach Puckett -- He was always an inspiration to me and everyone who knew him. I admired his charisma and perseverance through all of his hardships, as well as the way that he treated all those around him. I am proud to have spent time with him, and for every single person he knew, he touched their life in a positive way. He was a force for good in Clarksville, and I will miss him. Please accept my condolences, and rest assured that he will be missed, and that our community will surely be worse off without him here.

I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Puckett family. Coach Puckett was more than a coach and principal, he was a friend. He was my teacher in middle school and principal in high school. He also walked me down the field when I won homecoming queen in 2002 and I will never forget the conversation we had the night before going out on the field. He was a very strong man. He was an inspiration to me. I felt like he was one of the only ones who believed in me as a student. There is a saying, "May the works I have done, speak for me". I feel like this fits him perfectly. His spirit will go on. Coach Puckett will ALWAYS and FOREVER be in my heart.

To the family of "Coach Puckett". I know that this is a touch time in your lives, the loss of an exceptional man, a loving Husband and Father. Coach Puckett's approach to teaching, coaching and mentoring to his students and players were a direct reflection of his life. Meeting him for the first time and seeing that smile and feeling that firm handshake showed what kind of man he truely was (Loving). I know that the love we felt from him was much more greater to his family. Celebrate his homegoing for he will pain no more and we all will see him again. To my Best Friend Bryce, stay strong, love you and the entire Puckett family. I'm here if you need me.

To the family of Mr. Puckett - I want to thank you for always taking me in like a family member. I have many fond memories with Mr. Puckett and the whole family - including all those family reunions you let me crash and walk around like some long, lost relative. What a big, warm, inviting family to have cared for this lucky man until his last days here. What a terrific wife in Sondra. What a lucky man. I miss all of you like kinfolk and I wish I were there with you tonight instead of far off in Washington. I told Mr. Puckett a few years back that I hope he would not mind if I considered him my best friend and he replied to me . . . as long as you don't mind if I just consider you one of my sons. I will never forget him nor all of you and your great family. Thank you for every kindness and accept my best wishes to all of you in your time of this great loss.

Blaine: Curtis and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family during this time. Listening and reading the remarks about your Dad does not surprise me as it seems to be a replica of yourself. Your successes, skills and abilities have been a direct result of a great mentor, your Dad. I know he is proud of the person that you are--the goodness and generosity--the thoughtfulness and caring which seems to be a daily part of your life. You are a very special person and we feel fortunate to have a friend and archery buddy like you. May God bless you and keep you in his care, is our prayer for you. Reta and Curtis McCullough

Our (Shelley's and mine) hearts are so very saddened at the loss of such a good friend. Shelley has such fond memories of "Coach" from school, and life lessons he taught her as well as many others. He will be remembered as a God fearing man, trusted man and faithful friend to those that had the priviledge to know him. Our prayer is for God to wrap his arms around your families during this difficult time and the days ahead. Bobby will be missed immensely by all who knew him.

Even though I didn't get to see Bobbie very often, he will be greatly missed and will always be in my heart. Bobbie was just a few months older than me so I always felt that we had a connection. He was so happy with Sondra and his children and lived for them. I know he is with GOD now and Aunt Bernice, Uncle George and George Carl and is pain free. My prayers go out to Sondra, children, grankids, Neil, Jake, and Ann and their family. I will not be able to attend Fri, so I will be sending my goodbyes up to him in my heart.

Coach Puckett was a great influence in my son Jonathan Barnes' life, for which I will forever be grateful. He was always there for him starting in Junior high all the way through high school. Even wrote his recomendation letter for his college admission. He always believed in Jonathan. He was very proud of him, in what he has done with his life. It is my belief that because of Bobby, Jonathan is a better person, son, father, serviceman. It has been an honor to know him, for him to help in raising our son. I know he is with our Father, and suffers no more. Love to you, his family, I hold you close to my heart. Respectfully, Donna Barnes Rosser

Bobby Puckett was a true friend, an outstanding mentor in my first professional job, and a great person. I know he is in a great place now and is no longer suffering. As Bobby and I went separate ways, I never forgot about him and his positive influence in my life. Bobby was a very devoted husband, parent, and a true professional in his education career. Bobby was a true competitor, whether on the basketball court, golf course, playing cards, or coaching. He was a winner and will be missed by all. Sandra, may God bless you, Blaine, and Bryce. To the Puckett family, I got to know Bobby while working in the library at Cheatham Middle School about 15 years ago. I always saw Bobby with a smile on his face and a kind word for a student having a tough day. He was one of the finest men I have ever known. My sympathies and love to your family. My prayers are with you. To Ann, Cindy, Lauren, and Michael, our love is sent your way.

My heart is with the family during this time of loss. I admired Coach Puckett and thought he was a great influence on his students, although I am sure it was hard on Bryce sometimes having his dad at this school watching his every move. Just look to God in this time of sorrow and he will carry you through. May God bless each and every one of you, I know what it is like to lose a dad, but know that he suffers no longer. My prayers are with you all. Jennifer Cooper

Dear Saundra and family, My life is better because I had the chance to know Coach Bobby Puckett. As one of the scores of lives he touched, I always held him highest regard. Not just because he was one of the best coaches I ever had or because of his ability to mold lives in and out of the classroom, but because he valued each and every student equally no matter what their lot in life. My friendship began in 1967 at Crockett Junior High and has transcended over forty years. While our paths didn't cross often, he always made time to ask about me, my family (in later years) and was interested in knowing how my life was going. Whether it was a firm handshake or even a hug recent years, I knew I had a friend in him. I"m so grateful you and Coach attended the PHS Class of 1973 reunion last year. That visit brought back many wonderful memories...cherished ones that are more valued today. I"m thankful that Coach suffers no more and his pain is over. Yet his victory over death is one that will outlast any won-loss record on the playing field or basketball court. Thanks for sharing him with us. You are in our hearts and our prayers, Derald, Lesa and Haley Bulls
